Eric Kohler has resurfaced and has spoken.

Kohler mysteriously disappeared on Nov. 24, and was found on Dec. 4 in La Paz Mexico after his family and friends frantically searched for him. There was little news from him after he was found and now, he has finally broken his silence. He explained the reason of his disappearance and shared the unexpected support from family and friends, according to Hollywood Reporter.

He posted a message on his Facebook page, saying that he has disappeared three weeks ago and part of it says, "My name is Eric Kohler and I am an addict. Through a state of exhaustion fueled by the stress and high expectations that were put on me, and the life I chose, my addiction escalated and I mentally snapped. This emotional and physical breakdown caused me to desert the people I care for and most importantly care for me."

The VFX director did not actually reveal what it is he is addicted to but did admit that he is already seeking treatment on a rehab. He wants to speak out and share what has really happened since he is now seeing quite clearly.

He post further reads, "I believe most people would find it easiest to ignore or dodge the questions and speculations, but I've decided that instead of bottling up my past destruction, I want to use my story as an example of a positive outcome. Those of you struggling and thinking no one cares, reach out to those around you. You will be pleasantly surprised to realize how much we, as humans, are capable of. I unfortunately had to figure this out in the hardest and most selfish way."

According to Variety, Kohler works include successful films starred on by famous actors, including "The Revenant," "Midnight Special," "X-Men: Days of Future Past," "San Andreas" and "The Grand Budapest Hotel."

Admitting his addiction was a brave thing to do and his family and friends do support him all the way.
