LG apparently thinks that a curved screen is cool. It has been reported that the South Korean electronics giant is working on a new phone which will have a curved screen, and it will not be the LG G Flex 3.
According to Tech Times, a prominent Twitter leaker named Evan Blass leaked the news about the phone's allegedly curved display.
Blass twitted: "LG's also got a handset with curved display in the works -- but this one wraps over the top of the device."
This rumor comes out together with the report suggesting that LG will not be launching its new LG G Flex smartphone in the coming year. Although LG already boasts LG G Flex and G Flex 2, which are phones with curved screens, the new rumored LG phone has nothing to do with the series.
As of now, the details are still few. Yet, it will be comparable to Samsung's Galaxy Note Edge, though the LG's rumored new phone's curved edge could be spotted on the top rather than on the side.
It seems that the phone manufacturer knows that the users might be interested with phones that feature out-of-the-box designs like curved displays aside from new functionalities.
LG has been leading the way towards bendy, flexible phones lately, as reported by Tech Radar. Now it seems that LG is doing something different to compete with its South Korean arch-rival, Samsung.
Either way, if this rumored new phone is true, it will be a notable exit from last year's LG G Flex 2, as this phone had a slight flex in the screen and chassis.
It looks like LG will not confirm or deny anything this side of holiday season. After all, the company wants the consumers to buy its current phones. But there are still hopes that LG might confirm it in the upcoming CES 2016 in January 2016.
