Donald Trump proposed a solution that will fix the akwakrd mistake during the coronation of this year's Miss Universe. For the controversial presidential candidate, the answer is pretty simple -- declare both Miss Colombia and Miss Philippines as winners.

Speaking on the Today show on December 21, Trump suggested, "I'll tell you what I think I'd do. I think I'd make 'em a co-winner. I would recommend that they go have a beautiful ceremony, which is good for the brand and good for Miss Universe, and do a co-winner."

Formerly, Trump owned a part of Miss Universe. However, after he made offending comments about Mexican immigrants over the summer, his co-owner NBCUniversal decided to cut ties with him. The company backed out and Trump bought the network's share. He then sold off Miss Universe to WWE/IMG in September.

Trump also commented on Steve Harvey's monumental mistake. The Republican candidate said, "It was a terrible error. Things happen. It's live television."

At the end of the pageant which was held last December 20, Harvey clearly announced Miss Colombia Ariadna Gutierrez as the winner. The 21-year-old beauty queen began weeping after she believes she was the rightful winner. After she was crowned, Gutierrez made her victory walk waving to her fans and the millions of viewers watching all over the world.

After two minutes, Harvey began to apologize revealing he made a huge mistake in the announcement. He clarified that Miss Colombia was supposed to be the first runner up and that Miss Philippines is the rightful winner. The crown was then removed from Gutierrez and placed on Wurtzbach along with the winner's bouquet and the Miss Universe sash.

Harvey relentlessly apologized for his mistake and took to twitter to "wholeheartedly" apologize to Miss Colombia and Miss Philippines. Gutierrez also responded gracefully to the whole situation saying she believes everything happens for a reason and that she is still happy despite what happened.
