Hobart, Australia is the place to be and we might as well be flocking there by hundreds.

Kirsten Craze of News..com.au reports that Hobart, the capital of Apple Isle, is the only place in Australia without a median house or unit price of $1 million (or way more) while every capital city is on the list with a total of 513 suburbs are priced at $1 million or above.

Hobart is as modern as any of Australia's cities, "from its harbour views and marina to a groovy restaurant scene and hipster food markets, but the priciest neighbourhood doesn't come close to a $1 million median," according to the report.

Battery Point is the Tasmanian capital's most pricey suburb with a median house sale price of $862,000 in the last 12 months. Despite this, it does not mean that Hobart does not make multi-million dollar sales.

According to local agent Brian Watchorn of Charlotte Peterswald For Property, "Generally anything on the waterfront, that brings top dollar."

His agency sold a "Battery Point property for $3.2 million and several more with seven-figure sums this year," the report continues.

"Every time we have had an auction in Battery Point this year the sale price has been about $50,000 to $100,000 over the reserve," he added.

"Since January we've sold between 20 and 30 properties mostly Battery Point and Sandy Bay for more than $1 million. It's probably been our best year for sales in memory," he continued.

Despite being the cheapest capital city, Hobart does have a five-star lifestlye that is quite attractive for cash-out buyers all over the country. There is a positive vibe in the place.

"We've been having a very steady influx of buyers from everywhere; Sydney, Melbourne and even Brisbane. There were a number of buyers from WA for a while but that seems to have died down," he said.

Pack your bags and let us move to Hobart, people!
