Kirstie Alley openly supports Scientology and because of her beliefs, she has remained distant to her family especially during the yuletide season. But the 64-year-old's cousin says that they are used to this. They said that they do not expect her to join them anymore and they claim that she prioritizes the controversial church over her family, a report from Radar Online said.
Lane Alley exclusively told Radar that they do not really see the "Look Who's Talking" actress anymore. Her closest family members, brother Craig and sister Colette, still live in their hometown in Wichita, Kansas, and have left the Hollywood lifestyle to their popular sister. They remained distant from Kristie and are also expecting nothing from her this coming Christmas season.
Her cousin further revealed that they were not that impressed with Kirstie and that they are used to her behavior.
"We don't know when she comes into town," she added. "Her brother and sister don't really say much about her."
And if the Emmy-winning actress even decides to visit Wichita, her relatives still say that family bonding may be the last item on her itinerary. Kirstie's cousin said that she would probably visit her father but usually she would still be doing stuff related to Scientology. Basically, in Kristie's world, she would want everyone to be involved with Scientology just like what she is doing.
"She'd like them to be [Scientologists]. She'd like all of us to be Scientologists!" Lane mentioned.
As the yuletide season approaches, the "Dancing With the Stars" actress may feel a bit down. To recall, it was weeks before Christmas last year that her daughter Lillie lost her fiancé in a motorcycle accident. Kristie on the other hand has lost her mother Maxine in a drunk driving accident in 1981. The said accident also left her father, Robert, injured.
