"Star Wars: The Force Awakens" is the biggest movie event of the year, and of course, those who haven't seen the film would pounce on those insensitive souls who post spoilers recklessly.

Former NFL player Michael Sam probably forgot how huge of a deal this movie was, and he tweeted a major spoiler. Shortly after, fans of the movie quickly attacked him on Twitter, and all he could say was a resounding "#oops."

After a slew of unfollows and curses on Twitter, people online weren't mincing their words toward the footballer and one even took it to the extent that this little mistake he did was the most attention he has gotten over the years!

"Star Wars: The Force Awakens" has already grossed major amounts in the box office, as it has been able to rake in $248 million during the opening weekend alone and the global total is now at $529 million. It marks the highest opening weekend performance ever for any movie, and although it's not expected to outperform "Avatar," it is still expected to generate $800 million in the domestic market alone.

In amusing news, as 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' dominated almost all the global box offices -- it failed to earn the top seed in Japan! Anime children's film 'Yo-Kai Watch the Movie 2: King Enma and the 5 Stories, Nyan!' was #1 in the Japanese market, but it's not a such a surprise there as Yo-Kai Watch has been dominating the video game and anime scene in the country this year. The cute film sold 975,000 tickets compared to Star Wars' 800,000. However, despite selling more tickets Star Wars still earned more since children's movies tickets are cheaper in the Asian country.

"Star Wars: The Force Awakens" premiered last week, and is expected to fare well in the box office for the weeks to come.
