The Star Wars Vs. Star Trek feud has been around for so long. The films have been compared millions of time, and a book was even written about it. Recently, the dispute was inflamed by a 'Twitter war' between Star Trek alum William Shatner and Star Wars freshman John Boyega. Weeks after, USA Today found itself at the center of the rivalry, after the publication's cover featured a picture that resembles the Star Trek's Vulcan hand gesture, right on top of its main story which is about 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens.' These clashes are fueled more by the tons of spectators all over social media, who may or may not side with either of the movies.

Among the people in between the feud are the cast and crew who are part of both films, including Star Trek actor Simon Pegg. He stars as Scotty in Star Trek, but he also has a minor role in the George Lucas saga as Unkar Plutt, the junk merchant at Jakkku. Pegg has talked about the alleged battle between the two films, and in an interview with Yahoo movies, he says, "I don't even know if that's real. I don't know a single Star Trek fan - maybe only a few - who would just sneer at Star Wars. That's a very un-Star Trek-y thing to do. And Star Wars fans similarly."

J.J. Abrams is the director of both 'The Force Awakens' and the most recent franchise of 'Star Trek.' But instead of being caught up between dueling fans, Abrams would most likely bring harmony to the cinematic universe by being the common element of the two.

Pegg shares how much he values being part of both films with equally incredible stories, and he reveals Abrams is a big part of that.

He says, "...I sat in my chair, dressed as Scotty, watching the Star Wars panel [at San Diego Comic-Con], and I was thinking, 'J.J.'s just nailed it.' He's got these amazing stories under one roof. And it seems right. They're wildly different tales, but now they are literally bedfellows."
