Although rumors may say that Sony was kind of troublesome this 2015, there are actually news about the company's plans to launch multiple smartphones in the coming year. News about the "Sony Xperia Z6" came with sub-rumors saying that the flagship phone will have five variants. This actually sounds like a hyperbole, but it's not exactly impossible considering how the "Sony Xperia Z5" came with multiple versions as well.

Furthermore, there are also reports saying that Sony will launch two versions of the "Sony Xperia Z6" instead of five. The release of these two versions may also be a separate event. There shall be a standard variant, or one that will be the base of the other. It can be the "Sony Xperia Z6" Mini, "Sony Xperia Z6" Plus, "Sony Xperia Z6" Ultra, or "Sony Xperia Z6" Compact. There are also news about the new flagships to use the Qualcomm Snapdragon Soc chip and at least one of the variants will sport a metal body build.

If you are an Xperia Z line fan, you may have to wait a while as no confirmed release date has surfaced online yet. But there are talks about a CES announcement that's happening in January, but that's highly unlikely considering that the Z5 just got launched three months ago. So if it doesn't come at the CES, there are also rumors saying that its launch will be happening in June, or in September at the very most. As for the price, no reports has surfaced about that yet, so we can just expect it to have a price tag similar to its 2015 flagship counterpart which is the Z5 series.

It may be too early to get excited about the "Sony Xperia Z6" considering that it may take a while before it gets announced. But looking at how good the Z5 series is, it's no wonder that people are already anticipating for its successor. The 23 MP camera with 1/2.3" sensor size of the Z5 clearly gives us a reason to be excited about the upcoming "Sony Xperia Z6"
