Game developer Square Enix has revealed new Play Arts Kai figures which are based from its popular video game, "Final Fantasy 7 Remake," a report from Gamespot said.
According to the report, the two prototypes of the new Play Arts Kai figures are Cloud and Barret. It was said that both figures were on display during Japan's annual Jump Festa event.
However, it should be noted that the game developer has yet to announce the price and the release date of the figures. It is also not clear whether the company plans to have additional characters from the "Final Fantasy 7 Remake."
There are speculations that Tifa Lockheart and Aerith Gainsborough will be the next playable characters that will be part of the Play Arts Kai figure.This means that the company will likely add new Play Arts Kai figures in the future. Fans loved the figurines because their refined quality and realistic features.
Gamerant reports that "the exposition typically focuses on anime and manga announcements, but over the last several years videogames have taken a strong foothold as well, in a similar fashion to North American events like San Diego Comic-Con."
"Square Enix is also releasing a Barret Wallace figurine alongside the sword-toting hero, both of which had early prototypes on display at the annual Jump Festa event in Japan. The figurines currently have no set release date from Square Enix, nor did the display list any potential prices. The high-end figurines typically retail for over $100, so collectors will have to splash the cash if they intend on taking part in the historic remaking of the most popular Final Fantasy title," the report said.
