Adele is still on fire and having the greatest two months of her music career.
After smashing every record that exists, and still counting, her first single in three years just scored it’s eight week at Number 1 at the Billboard Hot 100.
According to Billboard, “Hello” just surpassed all of Adele’s previous hits in the charts. “Rolling in the Deep” reigned for seven weeks followed by “Someone Like You” at five weeks back in 2011. “Set Fire To The Rain” reached number 1 for two weeks in 2012 as well.
Her new album, “25” has just surpassed the five million copies sold worldwide. That’s just impressive. With a new worldwide tour coming up, Adele has no sign from stopping her yet another wildly successful music career.
“Hello” is also the first song that debuted at number 1 in the Hot 100 for at least eight weeks since Elton John’s reign 18 years ago with his Princess Diana tribute song, “Candle In The Wind” and "Something About the Way You Look Tonight."
Adele also graced the cover of Time magazine. She told her views about the success she was getting and the hardships that came when she took a break three years ago.
When asked about her massive success in her songs and why people respond to it, Adele said, “The fact that I’m not shy or embarrassed to be falling apart. Everyone falls apart, I think. A lot of people try to be brave and not shed a tear. Sometimes when you know someone else feels as s— as you do, or approaches things in a certain way just like you do, it makes you feel better about yourself. Even though my music is melancholy, there’s also joy in that. I hope I do bring joy to people’s lives, and not just sadness, but I think there’s a comfort in it. But I honestly don’t know. If I knew, I would bottle it, and sell it to everyone else.”
