In every real estate transaction, the agent involved plays a great role. Their performance can make or break a deal. A good one will take charge and sell your property as quickly as possible. However, not all real estate agents are created the same. There are bad eggs in the industry that you need to look out for. Here are signs indicating you should change your agent as soon as possible.

A bad agent has poor communication skills. He doesn't return calls or e-mails on time. As a result, his client misses out on opportunities. Find a real estate agent whom you can count on to be there whenever he or she is needed.

Some real estate agents are hard to get along with because they can't recognize who the boss really is. They make you feel as though you are working for them instead of the other way around. Don't allow an agent to pressure you into purchasing properties beyond your price range or into selling your property for an unreasonably low price.

Even if you are the boss, an agent must still practice a sense of leadership. He must know when not to agree with everything you say. He gives constructive criticism too. If your agent lacks leadership skills, then you've certainly got a bad egg.

If the agent you hired is always late, it is a sign that he or she is not being respectful of your time and we all know that time is a precious commodity. Sometimes, people do run late for valid reasons but if your agent is frequently late, it might be time to find someone else for the job.

When working with a real estate agent, let the results do the talking. A bad agent is all talk but yields no results at all. If you have been working together for months and you are still not getting your expected results, then that is a big red flag.

Whether you are purchasing or selling a property, your agent should keep you informed every step of the way. It is a big problem if he keeps you out of the loop. You want an agent who is honest and ensures you are comfortable while you are working with him or her.

The bottom line is, if you are working with a real estate agent, the last thing you want is someone who just wants to make quick money. Listen to your gut and look out for the signs listed above. Do not hesistate to reconsider your choice and look for another agent who keeps your best interest at heart.
