The Dallas estate that once belonged to NFL great Deion Sanders is all set to go under the hammer this November.
The estate - "Lone Star on Preston" - will reportedly be sold by Concierge Auctions and Jonathan Rosen of Briggs Freeman of Sotheby's International Realty jointly. Set to hit the auction block November 18, 2014, the estate will be sold to the highest bidder without reserves.
"Concierge Auctions is accustomed to selling homes with incredible amenities, celebrity-owned and otherwise, but Lone Star on Preston ranks among the top. It's obvious Mr. Sanders designed the property for fun, play and entertaining, but also with quality and privacy in mind," Laura Brady, founder and president of Concierge Auctions, said in a statement.
Sanders sold the residence and the adjacent parcels of land for an unrevealed price in August this year. Candy Evans of Candy's Dirt broke news of the sale noting that the property sold to Bloomfield Homes Inc., a residential development company.
Deion listed the home for $21 million in 2009, but took it off the market in 2011. So the deal was completely off market. After the home sold, it was briefly offered for $12.9 million but looks like an estate of such grand stature would sell better through an auction.
The estate is a 109-acre property that has a 29,122-square-foot single-family house. The developers reportedly have planned on building three phases of residential property on 82-acres of the property and have also planned on selling or auctioning off the huge mansion.
The mansion reportedly has 10 bedrooms and 10 bathrooms.
Deion shared this house with his ex-wife Pilar Sanders. The house was also part of their nasty divorce battle, where Pilar claimed that the bigger the house Deion lives in, the more money he will have to shell out.
The home is stuffed with luxury amenities including a banquet hall, indoor basketball court, a bowling alley, indoor pools, movie theater, Hall of Fame gallery and much more. It also had a football field of its own, a tennis court and also a detached guest house and a 10-car garage. There is an 8-acre lake too.
"This property is one-of-a-kind. Where else can you play football on a regulation-sized field, bowl on a regulation-sized alley and swim in a lake, indoor pool, and outdoor pool in one day, all without stepping a foot off of your property?" Jonathan Rosen said in the statement.
"Deion Sanders, one of the greatest athletes to ever live, built this house to the highest standards of excellence and to have a lot of fun. The lucky next owner of Lone Star on Preston will have unlimited access to all of the luxuries Deion enjoyed here, and plenty of room to share this incredible experience with friends," Rosen added.
