"Scandal" Season 5 will see a meaner and more evil Cyrus Beene (Jeff Perry).
According to Design & Trend, Cyrus has always had the hopes of running for President. However, he has also been very loyal to President Fitzgerald Grant (Tony Goldwyn).
During one of the episodes from the previous season, Cyrus said, "I stole the White House! I wasn't made to be chief of staff! Do you know what I was made to be? I was made to be the president of the United States."
With this, fans believe that seeing Cyrus fight for office against President Fitz and his estranged wife Mellie Grant (Bellamy Young) will be an interesting storyline for the character.
Meanwhile, there are also some rumors that Cyrus will continue to become Olivia Pope's (Kerry Washington) nemesis.
In the previous episodes of "Scandal" Season 5, Cyrus and Olivia's rift continued to grow. At one point, Cyrus even teamed up with Mellie to take down Olivia. However, their differences were set aside when Cyrus once again worked for President Fitz. Now that Olivia and President Fitz are no longer together, Cyrus may either work for or against Olivia.
"Now that he's back at the White House, he and Olivia have had several awkward encounters. We're wondering if it's possible for Cyrus and Olivia to actually work together and become friends?" the publication wrote.
In other news, Cyrus will continue to make the life of Elizabeth North (Portia de Rossi) miserable. Even though the two characters are no longer working closely with each other, Cyrus previously vowed to take Elizabeth down. According to Variety, De Rossi will continue to be a series regular in Season 5, so fans can see more of her on the show.
"Scandal" Season 5 will premiere on ABC on Feb. 11, 2016 at 9 p.m. ET.
