"The Divergent Series: Allegiant" star Shailene Woodley recently revealed that she initially turned down her role as Tris.
During an interview with The Guardian, Woodley said that she declined to play the role of Tris because she just got out of a television show.
"It was a little trepidatious saying yes to a franchise, simply because I'd just come off a television show where I had a six-year contract. So the thought of signing another four-year contract was quite daunting," she said.
Woodley added that she was also hesitant to play the role of Tris because she was never part of such a huge franchise. The actress knew that it could be challenging for her.
"Also I had said, growing up as a child actor, that I'd never be a part of a big studio franchise, because I never wanted that sort of recognition around the globe. I liked doing smaller roles and I really just love acting because I like being on a movie set and that's it. So I definitely had my doubts, but having said yes, I wouldn't change it for the world," she said.
Meanwhile, Woodley also spoke with Melty, about the differences between the Tris that fans saw in "Divergent" and "Insurgent."
"In 'Divergent,' Tris is trying to figure out who is she apart from her family. What defines her exposition and apart from the paradigm she's grown up with. And in 'Insurgent,' Tris is trying to figure out who she is outside the external circumstance she currently finds herself in," she said.
In other news, fans can expect to see a more mature Tris in the upcoming movie "The Divergent Series: Allegiant." It has also been confirmed that the character will be killed off.
"The Divergent Series: Allegiant" is slated for release on Mar. 18, 2016.
