"The Vampire Diaries" star Ian Somerhalder recently revealed that he still misses his ex-girlfriend and former co-star Nina Dobrev.

According to International Business Times, Dobrev's departure from the hit The CW series took a huge toll on Somerhalder that's why he is also considering leaving the show. The publication added that it's also possible that Somerhalder wants to exit the franchise because of the ongoing rumors that he and his wife Nikki Reed were the reason behind Dobrev's exit.

In the past, there were some reports that Dobrev had an uncomfortable experience on the set of "The Vampire Diaries" because Reed was always there watching over her and Somerhalder's every move.

"Ian's decision to quite 'Vampire Diaries' is perhaps due to the trauma in his personal life. After all, the actor is reportedly distancing himself from the rest of the cast on the show," the publication noted.

Meanwhile, there were also some rumors that Somerhalder wants to leave "The Vampire Diaries" because he knows for a fact that the series will no longer survive a few more seasons.

Just recently, E! News reported that "TVD" has been moved from its usual Thursday schedule to Friday to accommodate a new show. Fans believe that this move can only mean that "The Vampire Diaries" will be axed soon. After all, the show hasn't been generating good ratings.

In other news, there have also been some rumors that Somerhalder may be dealing with a lot of things in his personal life. This is one of the reasons why the actor wants to focus more on his wife Reed.

Just recently, there were reports that Somerhalder and Reed almost ended their marriage because they couldn't agree on when is the best time to have children. As of late, none of these reports have been confirmed by Somerhalder, Reed or Dobrev.

"The Vampire Diaries" Season 7 airs Fridays at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
