Talking about his role in the upcoming "Thor: Ragnarok," Mark Ruffalo revealed why a Hulk stand-alone film might not be possible in the future.
It was earlier confirmed that Ruffalo will be reprising his role as the Hulk in the upcoming "Thor: Ragnarok." International Business Times reports that Ruffalo talked about his role in the film in an interview, saying that the movie will show how Bruce Banner will pick himself up after being a victim of mind control in the previous movie, "Avengers: Age of Ultron."
In the last part of the movie, his character was seen drifting away on a jet. He revealed that fans will finally learn why Bruce chose to leave the Avengers and whether it was really Bruce or Hulk who decided to leave the group.
Ruffalo also explained why it is so hard for Hulk to have a stand-alone film. According to Superhero Hype, Ruffalo said Marvel and Universal don't get along very well, and that is the main reason why the famous green monster doesn't have a stand-alone film compared with the other members of the Avengers.
The very first stand-alone Hulk movie starred Edward Norton as the title character back in 2008, just after the first "Iron Man" movie was released. It was also before the Marvel Cinematic Universe was created, so coming up with a stand-alone movie with a previously released Hulk film may reportedly be difficult for the company.
Ruffalo said that hopefully the two companies could work out their differences so they could soon work together for a possible Hulk movie. However, Ruffalo revealed that right now it doesn't look promising for Hulk's fans.
Meanwhile, fans will have to wait until 2017 to see Hulk in the new "Thor" movie where Ruffalo revealed the character will be much smarter than he was in "Age of Ultron."
"Thor: Ragnarok" is scheduled for release on Nov. 3, 2017.
