"Mission: Impossible" director, Christopher McQuarrie, is planning to make the sixth installment of the film franchise to have a different look. McQuarrie also did the direction for "Mission: Impossible Rogue Nation."
For "Mission: Impossible" next sequel, McQuarrie shared some of his thoughts about the type of direction he intends to apply. He told Slash Film in an interview that he wishes to grow and push himself that if anyone would look at those three movies he has done, it would be pretty clear that there is a unique voice which runs through his works and the every movie is sort of expanding in the aspect of the use of technology and storytelling.
According to McQuarrie, his desire as a filmmaker is to constantly become a better one than he was on his previous movie. "I am not a filmmaker who is interested in stasis," he said. McQuarrie also added that he is learning on every film the secrets of the technical skills, and he had some things that he particularly learned from the film which he plans to use to the next. Furthermore, the director imagines the next "Mission: Impossible" looking very unique, for he will be upset if it would not look very different.
Directing the movie "Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation" has made McQuarrie learned directly that there a lot of things that he planned to change in the next "Mission: Impossible" film such as the motorcycle sequence which was originally made bigger and longer with too many things being involved. For the director, it is possible to make a bigger film with less, and he is intent on doing something less dependent on the story, something leaner and "a bit stripped down," McQuarrie added.
"Mission: Impossible" sequel will have Tom Cruise repeat his character as Ethan Hunt which is scheduled to begin filming in the Summer of 2016, CrossMap shared.
