Since November 2015, Charlie Sheen has spoken openly about his HIV diagnosis. His confession stirred quite a media storm but the 50-year-old actor has remained strong throughout the entire ordeal thanks to the support of his ex-wives Denise Richards and Brooke Mueller.

In a recent interview with Radar Online, Sheen told the entertainment news outlet that Richards was "immediately supportive" upon knowing that the actor contracted the virus.

"There was no judgement there. There was no fear about anything. She's a tough lady; she's dealt with her mom's cancer and her mom's death. Denise wanted nothing but the best for me, there was nothing, again, nothing but support," he said.

He shared that Mueller also had the same reaction when the news of his HIV broke out. Sheen said, "Same with Brooke. She was sad for me but then realized that I'm a pretty tough customer and she knew I would handle it and do whatever I had to."

In a separate interview with the National Enquirer, the actor also vowed to find a cure for HIV. "If anybody can fight this thing and discover a cure, it's me. I will exhaust every resource. I will move forward until something's revealed," he said.

He revealed that as of date, he has already spent $200,000 for treatment. More specifically, the total cost of his medical battle against HIV costs $4,000 each month. He is determined to "develop ways" that make the treatment "affordable for all."

Sheen promised, "If there's a cure out there, I will find it and share it. You have my word."

Sheen is currently single but he has 11-year-old Sam and 10-year-old Lola with Richards, and 6-year-old twins Bob and Max with Mueller. He was previously engaged to Bret Rossi but they split in 2014.
