In a short amount of time, Kim Kardashian's "Kimoji" topped the Tops Paid App Store Chart, outranking popular games such as Beats NBA 2K16 and GTA: San Andreas. As more Apple users continue to download her app, the "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" star took to social media to apologize for "breaking" the app store. Not only was her tweet scrutinized but Apple itself quickly responded saying that "Kimoji" is nowhere near crashing their App Store.

In an official statement, the company stated, "There were absolutely no issues with the App Store yesterday." Apple was referring to the "Kimoji" app's launch last December 21, Monday.

This statement from the tech giant followed a couple of Kardashian's tweets where she expressed disbelief that her app broke the App Store. She even addressed Apple to make an apology for doing so.

Furthermore, gossip site TMZ added more fuel to Kardashian's claims by reporting that the $1.99 Kimoji app generated 9,000 download requests per millisecond at one point.

TMZ also cited a statement from a tech insider who said that Apple's tech team "swooped in and shored the App Store up so it didn't fully crash."

Although Apple users did encounter some technical problems when they attempted to download Kardashian's app, Tech Insider explained that it has nothing to do with the app's claimed popularity.

"It takes time for Apple to properly index new applications for search. So unless you had a direct link to the app in the App Store, you wouldn't have been able to find it with a simple search," Tech Insider said.

Apple also denied TMZ's reports about the "9,000 downloads per millisecond" and how their tech team "swooped in" to save the App Store.

"Kimoji" is not Kardashian's first mobile application. Earlier this year, she released an official app that gives her avid fans an access to her personal life and lifestyle tips for $2.99.
