Matt Damon will be reprising his role in the upcoming untitled "Bourne" 5 movie which is scheduled to be released next year.

Back in 2014, it was confirmed that Damon will be back as Jason Bourne in the new "Bourne" movie and according to Entertainment Weekly, he talked about his comeback in the franchise. Damon revealed that at first he wasn't sure about being casted as Bourne after "The Bourne Ultimatum" back in 2007. He added that he and director Paul Greengrass talked about doing another film years ago about how it would be better if they let the time pass and "allow the world to change a little." By November 2014, he confirmed that he will be back to reprise his role in a fifth "Bourne" movie and he was waiting then for Greengrass to also make a comeback as the movie's director.

Meanwhile, Fashion & Style reported that Damon also revealed that they started filming September of this year and is now halfway done. Damon also revealed that 'Bourne" 5 will pick up 12 years after Jason Bourne went off the grid back in 2004. He added that the lost years will be the major story for the new movie. Damon also teased on some of the action scenes that are to be expected in the movie which include a night time riot scene in Athens in the beginning of the movie, and also a big car chase down the Vega strip which will be the third act. He added that they also filmed in England, Berlin, and also in Washington D.C.

Aside from Damon, Julia Stiles was also earlier reported to reprise her role as Nicky Parson and new additions were also confirmed including Tommy Lee Jones, Riz Ahmed, Scott Shepherd, Alicia Vikander, and Vincent Cassel.

The untitled "Bourne" 5 movie is scheduled to be released on July 29, 2016.
