One Direction and 5 Seconds Of Summer fans unite to fight back right after the #5SOSisDeadParty hashtag trended. According to news, this type of hashtag was popularized by Fifth Harmony fan who started this way back.

Because of the 5SOS' copycat activity among fans, the group experienced a massive backlash especially right after their Rolling Stone interview, Mirror reported. One fan tweeted, "#5SOSIsDeadParty Harmonizers bringing up Ashton's past [self-harming history and his dad leaving] but can they bring up 5Harmony's future?" This is clear that a lot of the Harmonizers were pissed.

Mirror also stated that the 5SOS members -- Luke Hemmings, Calum Hood, Ashton Irwin, and Michael Clifford -- chats were released online. After the release, a lot of their fans were shocked on what they shared and most especially on sleeping with fans issue.

Due to the backlash and negative response of the fans towards the group, they initiated to have the #5SOSisDeadParty hashtag as a form of support and defense to these issues against 5SOS.

One fan said, "It pisses me off that people joke about self-harming and Ashton's dad. That's not something to joke about. Grow tf up. #5SOSIsDeadParty."

Amid the issues that 5SOS has undergone right now, Directioners stated their endless support to the fans boy band's fans. "When you know Directioners and 5sosfam will always support each other." Another fan said, "#5SOSIsDeadParty love how directioner and 5sosfam slay together [smiley] I chose the right family!"

Michael Clifford told his sincerest gratitude to their fans for being strong enough to defend them amid the controversy.

He tweeted, "I hated when people include everything in an article EXCEPT the reason we're a band; the fans."

5 Seconds of Summer is currently under controversy with the issue about sleeping with their fans. Rolling Stone mentioned Luke who is sleeping with a lot of girls while on tour. The excerpt says, "Hemming says they took full advantage of the attention. They were wildest on their easy tours, when they'd go to bars to mingle with fans after shows."

The report added that Hemmings even felt proud having a lot of girls on one night and had a lot of good time. Based from the same source, the said report is hoax. The group didn't have any comments regarding this issue.

Yet, amid these controversies they are in now, One Direction fans seemed to have a strong faith and bond to 5SOS.
