"Outlander" fans are now eagerly waiting for the show's return and star Sam Heughan may have hinted when the show will return.

Heughan, who plays the title role of Jaime in the historical drama, revealed in his social media account that the production for "Outlander" season 2 is almost over. With that, Christian Today reported that the show would possibly premiere by April of 2016. Heughan revealed in an earlier interview that author of the original book Diana Gabaldon is currently writing the stories for season 2 and that they don't have any idea how the story will end. He added that they are currently enjoying the shooting and he also expressed hopes of the show being renewed for season 3.

It was earlier reported that Jaime and Claire (Caitriona Balfe) will attend high class parties in France in season 2 just like what the promotional photos suggests. It was also revealed that Jaime will meet French noblemen and they will try to stop the Jacobite rebellion as they try to change the past. Along the way, they will meet their daughter who has also travelled back in time.

On other news, "Outlander" season 1 proved to be a success as Fashion & Style reported that the show was named as the Radio Times TV Show Champion of 2015 and Heughan expressed his gratitude to the fans who watched the show. He added that this was the best Christmas gift he received and he commended the whole cast and crew of the show for their hard work and dedication. The site also speculated that the network might reveal the official premiere date of "Outlander" season 2 sometime in January of February.

As of writing, there is still no official news on the show's premiere date but it is expected to air in April.
