The author behind the story of "Game of Thrones," George R.R. Martin, just shared that "distraction" is one of the reasons why he has still not finished "The Winds of Winter."
Inquisitr reports about Martin's dilemma and the "Games of Thrones" visionary even specified that he is not the type who can inject some writing job while on a conventional trip to talk about his book "The Winds of Winter."
"I don't write when I travel. I don't write in hotel rooms. I don't write on airplanes. I really have to be in my own house undisturbed to write," Martin said from the outlet. "Through most of my life nobody did bother me, but now everyone bothers me every day. I have assistants and minions whose main job is to make sure people don't bother me so I can actually get writing done."
GRRM even specified that this problem of not continuing his work for "The Winds of Winter" is not a case of writer's block and more of the "distraction" that the popularity of his works brought.
"Writer's block isn't to blame here, it's distraction. In recent years, all of the work I've been doing creates problems because it creates distraction," added by GRRM from the outlet. "Because the books and the show are so popular I have interviews to do constantly. I have travel plans constantly. It's like suddenly I get invited to travel to South Africa or Dubai, and who's passing up a free trip to Dubai?"
Although the 67-year-old novelist aimed to release "The Winds of Winter" before the sixth season of "Games of Thrones," fans may probably have to wait for a later announcement.
