"How to Get Away With Murder" season 2 will see more of Karla Souza's character Laurel.

According to Spoilers Guide, Laurel will be given more responsibilities now that Wes (Alfred Enoch) and Annalise Keating (Viola Davis) had a falling out.

In the midseason finale episode "What Did We Do?" Annalise asked the members of the Keating Five to shoot her on the legs to make it look like Emily Sinclair (Sarah Burns) attacked her.

Wes was the only one who agreed to fulfill Annalise's wishes, but he also had his own anger at the back of his mind.

When he pulled the trigger, Annalise was surprised to discover that she has been shot in the abdomen. The episode ended with the lead character fighting for her dear life.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, executive producer Pete Nowalk said that the moment wherein Annalise asked Laurel to shoot her served as one of the ways for fans to get to know the character better.

"In that moment when she was getting asked to shoot Annalise, she had to really look at herself and see what sort of person she was. I love the way she reacts, and I'm very excited to see how she's evolved from this Murder Night. She's going to have a very big responsibility on her when we come back, and handles it in a way that's going to surprise us," he said.

Meanwhile, fans are now speculating on what Laurel's new and big responsibility would be.

Some fans believe that she might have to serve as the middle person between her friend and professor. Some fans also believe that she will be tasked to solve a new mystery.
