A new report about "Rise of the Tomb Raider" has surfaced on Monday, saying that the popular video game will be officially released on January 2016. The news comes after the game's official release date was listed in the Steam's digital distribution platform, a report from Gamespot said.

According to the report, both game publishers Crystal Dynamics and game developer Square Enix have neither announced the game's official release date for PC.

It can be recalled that back in July this year, Square Enix has officially announced that the game's PC version is expected to be released on "early 2016."  In fact, a listing of the PC version of the game via Amazon France revealed that the game will arrive specifically on January 29, 2016.

"The PS4 version of Rise of the Tomb Raider will not be available until Winter 2016, due to an exclusivity deal between Square Enix and Microsoft. It is unclear whether future installments in the Tomb Raider franchise will also come first to Xbox, such as the inevitable Fall of the Tomb Raider," Trusted Reviews said.

iDigitalTimes reports that "Rise of the Tomb Raider" has received favorable reviews from players after the game was successfully launched last month exclusively for Xbox One. It was said that the game's PC version has been heavily reported last month with some reports suggesting that the game will be released in other console platforms.

"As found on the Steam page, Rise of the Tomb Raider is currently listed with a release date of January 2016. While this doesn't exactly confirm the release of Rise of the Tomb Raider, it does narrow down the release date to be one of 31 potential days. Seeing as how games typically are released on Tuesdays, fans can expect to start downloading Lara Croft's latest adventure on Jan. 5, 12, 19, or 26," the report noted.
