The Utah Jazz will be missing Alec Burks, their sixth man, for the next six weeks or longer.

The Utah Jazz guard landed on his shoulder after he was extremely fouled by Paul Pierce. Burks did not show up again after he left the game.

The 24-year-old player had undergone MRI on Sunday and was diagnosed with concussion-related symptoms, NBA reported. His left fibula was fractured and he will be out of the game indefinitely. More so, there will be no surgery involved to repair his fractured ankle but he will more likely continue wearing a boot around his foot.

The Utah Jazz guard might be missing a minimum of six weeks, according to Yahoo's Adrian Wojnarowski's tweet. This will put the player returning after the All-Star break with close to 29 games remaining in the season.

During Burk's fifth season, he has been off the bench with an average career-high of 14.3 points plus 38.7 percent shooting percent from three, which is also a career high. He has been contributing a lot of points and scores for his team and is undoubtedly a big part of the Jazz's success this season.

Yet unfortunate circumstances do happen, and Utah has been really affected by a series of injuries as its players Dante Exum and Rudy Gobert have also suffered serious injuries. In spite of these situations, Utah is still in the playoff hunt and at present ranked number eight in the West. Since the team will be missing Burks, Utah's spot is at risk and is reaching the critical juncture of the season.

Meanwhile, the team has some depth at Burk's guard position and will probably play Rodney Hood, Trey Burke and Joe Ingles heavy minutes. Apart from that, Utah Jazz may also sign a new guard to help them through their original guard's absence, according to CBS Sports.
