The "Once Upon A Time" winter finale saw an emotional ending.
During the emotional episode, Hook/Killian finally conquered the darkness inside him when he sacrificed his own life for the benefit of some loved ones. Emma was heartbroken and decided to embark on a mission of bringing him back, which requires the Storybrooke characters to explore the underworld.
The hit series "Once Upon A Time" is on its fifth season and is now on hiatus. It is set to return on March 2016. Fortunately, executive producers Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz did an interview with Entertainment Weekly where they revealed a few hints about what the fans can expect in the second half of the season.
The characters of "Once Upon A Time" are bound to explore the Underworld, according to Kitsis and Horowitz. However, the producers also said that they will not be spending the rest of Season 5 in there. Viewers will see various new characters on the Underworld which will not only be full of villains, but other characters as well, according to the producers.
In the second half of the Season, villainous characters such as Cruella de Vil, Peter Pan, and Cora are going to revisit the show. Furthermore, viewers can expect to see new characters such as Megara and Hercules. Meanwhile, Hades was revealed as the latest villain of Season 5.
Being in the Underworld, characters still have the ability to kill and also die. However, these can only happen under a new set of consequences and rules. Kitsis explained during the interview, "There are things that apparently worse than death." As for the characters that already passed on, they may only be defeated by using non-conventional weapons. These hints are vital for Regina since she is bound to fight against a number of her previous victims, Ecumenical News reported.
Emma and Regina will both utilize their magic powers in the Underworld. They will also be back to working together in the series as Emma tries to tear her heart and share half of it with Hook. Unluckily, the producers did not reveal whether Hook might live again. They also hinted that the character might actually die in the series.
"Once Upon A Time" is set to return to ABC on March 6, at 8 p.m.
