It was earlier confirmed that "Hannibal" alum Mads Mikkelsen will be joining "Doctor Strange" and now it was revealed that he will be playing a villain in the upcoming film.

According to International Business Times, Mikkelsen will be joining actor Benedict Cumberbatch who will be playing the Marvel hero in the standalone film scheduled to be released in November. The studio has been releasing exclusive images for the movie but the role of the cast is yet to be revealed. Marvel Studios president, Kevin Feige revealed in an earlier interview that Mikkelsen's character will be "a sorcerer who breaks off into his own sect."

Earlier, Fiege teased the "Doctor Who" will explore the multiverse and also the other worldly dimensions that made the character so popular. He added that these worlds will be guarded by The Ancient One to be played by Tilda Swinton and he added that danger could lurk within these dimensions. Fiege revealed that Mikkelsen's character believes that The Ancient One is just protecting her own power and he thinks that the world will be better if some things from other dimensions would be allowed to pass through. However, Fiege still did not reveal the name of this villain and wants it to be a secret for now.

On other news, Rachel McAdams was also confirmed to join the movie and Entertainment Weekly reported what she will be playing in the film. According to Fiege, McAdams will be playing the role of a fellow surgeon who has a history with Doctor Strange who is also essential in understanding his old life. Fiege added that McAdams' character will have a connection with Strange at the beginning and he will soon reconnect with her to help him "anchor his humanity."

Marvel's "Doctor Strange" is scheduled to be released on Nov. 4, 2016.
