Matt Damon is an expensive guy, both in real and in fictional character-so to speak.

Damon is a famous actor, a good one at that. He has made several films that have cost Hollywood a lot of money both as payment for his acting and in making movies in which he has to be rescued an awful lot.

BGR reports that a calculation was made and a staggering amount of $900 billion was needed to rescue the actor. Could it actually be more?

Surely, nobody has noticed it before a Quora user asked, "How much money has been spent attempting to bring Matt Damon back from distant places?" Films under Damon's belt in which he needed rescuing include "Saving Private Ryan," "Interstellar," "The Martian," and other films, in which he has to be rescued, of course.

Perhaps just for the fun of it, or people really got interested in the question, an answer was provided, BGR continues. Another Quora user, Kynan Eng, provided the following breakdown:

Movie Budgets
Courage Under Fire: $46m
Saving Private Ryan: $70m
Titan A.E.: $75m
Syriana: $50m
Green Zone: $100m
Elysium: $115m
Interstellar: $165m
The Martian: $108m
TOTAL: $729m

Fictional Costs
[My estimates, costs are in 2015 currency]
Courage Under Fire (Gulf War 1 helicopter rescue): $300k
Saving Private Ryan (WW2 Europe search party): $100k
Titan A.E. (Earth evacuation spaceship): $200B
Syriana (Middle East private security return flight): $50k
Green Zone (US Army transport from Middle East): $50k
Elysium (Space station security deployment and damages): $100m
Interstellar (Interstellar spaceship): $500B
The Martian (Mars mission): $200B
TOTAL: $900B plus change

It is a lot of money, and I repeat-a lot. But then again, it is Matt Damon. Perhaps he can make up for it when he does the saving himself on his next Jason Bourne film, which is set to be released 2016.
