Classic American Brand Designer Ralph Lauren has chosen to live in a quiet county in Colorado with his wife. While it is not as chaotic as the streets of New York, maintaining the entire property could be a handful as it is as big as the island of Manhattan.

In a beautiful House & Garden feature, Ralph Lauren opens his 16,000 acres of home and takes us inside an entirely different world he has made with his wife, Ricky. Before they got the ranch, the couple had been looking in Montana for a ranch because they really wanted a different life from the one they had in New York. They immediately stopped looking after a friend showed them the estate.

The designer shares, "The minute we saw it, that was it. This is a place for friends and for the children. They come with their friends and we with ours."

The magical property aptly named RRL Ranch, after him and his wife, is situated in Ouray County, in southwest Colorado. It boasts of its own little ecosystems, as it is a home to a wide variety of flora and fauna.

Lauren's home exudes Western style especially in terms of interiors, choice of fabrics, and colors. There are five cabins where guests could occupy during their stay, a main lodge house, the cook house, and four giant tepees, all of which are carefully designed with Native-American motifs.

After being served a big breakfast in the ranch's Cook House, guests could choose their activities like horseback riding through the estate, hiking, or working out at the gym house. In the evening, the could watch a movie at a saloon built beside a river.

Every Summer, the couple holds a big barbecue party on a plateau that has the biew of the valleys and the mountains. They are served steaks and hot potatoes partnered with the staple in Colorado, Coors beer. Clearly, this ranch is a fulfillment of the couple's desire for a complete change of culture.
