Dwayne Johnson also known as wrestlemania's "The Rock" made an announcement that he will be appearing at Wrestlemania 32 on April 2016.
Dwayne Johnson has been one of the most in demand actors in today. With his heavy portfolio of movies like "San Andreas" and casting regularly in the "Fast and Furious" installments, Johnson has a good thing going for him. He is also on queue for the next season of NFL inspired sports drama "Ballers."
It seems "The Rock" will be paying homage to his roots and his first shot at appearing on screen, Wrestlemania. Johnson's first gig in front of the camera was his The Rock identity as a professional wrestler.
In his Instagram post, Johnson announces his return to the wrestling ring for WWE's Wrestlemania next April 2016 saying, "IT'S OFFICIAL: People's Champ is coming home to do 3 things with THE PEOPLE: Set an ALL-TIME attendance record, ELECTRIFY Dallas like never before & make all time #WRESTLEMANIA history. And we have FUN." He posts this along with a throwback picture of his Wrestlemania days.
Aside from his upcoming appearance in Wrestlemania 32, it is going to be an entirely busy year ahead for Johnson. Staying true to his carrer in action films, Johnson will be co-starring with Kevin Hart in an action-comedy "Central Intellegence." He will also be voicing a character in Disney's "Moana." Another installment for "Fast & Furious" is underway. There is actually a very long list of projects for the wrestler-turned-action star but the WWE comeback will surely bring the most nostalgia to his fans.
With a long roster of projects, it is safe to say that "The Rock" won't be mainstaying in the WWE ring but it is better than nothing.
Johnson aims to set a new audience attendance record in the Wrestlemania 32. The highest audience count recorded was during "WrestleMania III" which dates back to 1987.
