Glee actor Mark Salling has been arrested on Tuesday for allegedly possessing child pornography.

According to Huffington Post, the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force under the Los Angeles Police Department has searched the actor's home in Sunland California. The house is listed under Jonathan Hernandez, Salling's roommate since 2011. The authorities have reportedly gone through Salling's computer, where thousands of pictures of sexually exploited children have been found. This could potentially bring the singer actor to prison. In a more recent update, the 33-year-old has apparently posted bail amounting to $20,000. He is set to face court on January 22, 2016.

TMZ reports that one of Salling's ex-girlfriends turned him in, prompting the authorities to investigate the allegations, so as to make sure it was not a set up. During the search, the TV star showed resistance at first by not allowing the police into his house, and refusing to give them his password.

The actor has been involved in other scandals that are sexual in nature. Last March, he reportedly agreed to settle a sexual battery case by paying his victim $2.7 million. Also, back in 2011, a woman named Roxanne Gorzela accused him of physical and sexual abuse. The actor confirmed that he had caused Gorzela to fall and injure herself.

Salling belonged to the cast of the musical comedy series 'Glee,' where he plays bad boy Noah 'Puck' Puckerman. His other stints include 'The Gathering' in 1996 and 'The Graveyard' in 2006.

Much like his character in Glee, the actor is a known ladies' man, and he has been linked to several female celebrities like 'The Hills' star Audrina Partridge, Glee co-star Naya Rivera who allegedly egged his house after they had broken up, and most recently, 'Big Time Rush' actress Denyse Toyt, who is just 19 years old.

Salling and his lawyers have yet to comment on the issue.
