This lake house in Minnesota was designed by Rehkamp Larson Architects and Brooke Voss Interior Design. Its modern structure fits its occupants, a young family who is all about having fun.
The home is specifically designed for lake living, but the materials used are concrete and steel. The house has its own bridge leading to the front of the house, and there is a moat to separate the lake from the house façade.
The house's dominant color is neutral grey, and its furniture adds up to the richness of texture observed throughout the house. The chairs in the reception area have a woven design but a contemporary look and material. A modern looking light hangs above the dining set, which accents this part of the home.
The team of architects shares the details of the home, "The house has an open floor plan, with a large wood-burning fireplace anchoring one end and a bright kitchen on the other. Sliding glass doors open up to a screen porch. Confetti windows on the fireplace wall and a family-size reading nook hint at the dynamic personalities living here."
The family room is spacious and allows work and play to blend among family members. An HD TV could be spotted, facing a huge coach. In one corner sits a piano, and far across is a table that could be used for study or playing board games.
The upper level has wooden floors, and the furniture just includes some mats and beanbags as well as a television. There is ample space for sleepovers as the space is almost bare.
The living area also has a lot of room. A round modern table centers it, while there are comfortable chairs around. It opens to the magnificent view of the lake. you could almost hear the chuckles and laughs of the family living in this wonderful lake house.
