Samar ended up getting fired from her job in the FBI in the midseason finale of the "Blacklist." Season 3B will pick up from the events of the mid-season finale and will feature an unlikely alliance between Samar and Red, Christian Post revealed via a statement from Bokenkamp. The EP further explained that since Samar is not working with Ressler and the rest of the team due to the unfortunate turn of events, the show will be seeing more of her back-channeling with Red as the "Blacklist" series returns.
After Liz was arrested, an exciting turn in the plot of the series is also expected to be revealed in the upcoming return of the series. The producers of the show also revealed that Tom and Ressler will most likely do their best to get Liz back. An unlikely teamup between Tom and Ressler is also included in the surprising changes fans of the "Blacklist" can look forward to in 2016.
It's a good thing that NBC is not prolonging the excitement and agony of fans as the show plans to return as early as January 7, 2016. A two part mid-season premiere with the title "The Director" will be aired on the 7th and the 14th of January, Carter Matt reports. T
he January 21 episode, on the other hand, will go by the title "Mr. Gregory DeVry" and is going to be a transitional episode leading to several changes in the "Blacklist" series. One thing is for sure; Red is finally going back to work with the department in the midseason premiere of Season 3 of the series.
"Blacklist" returns on TV screens this Jan. 7 and Jan. 14, 2015 with a two-part premiere episode.
