The NBA finally delivered their verdict on Matt Barnes suspending the Memphis Grizzlies forward after an incident of altercation with Derek Fisher last October was reported.

According to New York Times, the National Basketball Association decided to suspend Barnes for two games for his said role in the reported incident outside the NBA court. It can be remembered that last October a report of Barnes and New York Knicks coach Derek Fisher having a fist fight surfaced the internet.

The report detailed that Barnes confronted Derek Fisher last October 3 at the Redondo Beach at the house of Gloria Govan. According to realgm;

"Derek was in Gloria's backyard with about 10 people having a bonfire on Saturday," said a source. "Derek's separated from his wife and there's a relationship with [Gloria].Barnes was in Santa Barbara [at Memphis Grizzlies training camp] and heard that Fisher was in his house. He went crazy. He got in his car and went to the house and went after Fisher."

The said incident was allegedly rooted from the rumors that Derek Fisher is wooing Barnes' ex-wife, Govan. And when their skirmish became physical it was then that police were called in, but no charges were filed according to reports.

However, the league had their own investigation which resulted to the suspension of Barnes and no reported sanction for Fisher. The players can be remembered as teammates in the LA Lakers from 2010 to 2012, which is why such incident had become a shock for some individuals.

From a game perspective, Barnes would be missing a game against the Miami Heat on Tuesday and another game against the Utah Jazz on Saturday Night. And such loss of a veteran forward will surely be felt by the Grizzlies, especially right now that they are on a 2 winning streak.
