The rumor mill has always included the New York Knicks and their goal to solidify their roster. Previously this month, talk about Dwight Howard transferring to Knicks in order to bolster the frontcourt has been widespread in the internet. However, in a follow up rumor regarding the team, it is now being speculated that the Knicks is also in a search of a reliable point guard.
The New York Knicks is in the tight spot right now. Even with the addition of a formidable rookie player, still Melo and his crew is falling short with their campaign. A testament to this is their 15 wins and 18 losses, putting them in the 12th spot of the Eastern conference.
An in order to alleviate them from the said ranking, the team is said to be on the lookout for the Detroit Pistons point-guard Brandon Jennings, who just returned from an injury which ruptured his left Achilles tendon almost 11 months ago. And according to christiantoday, the Knicks lack of consistency and stability could possibly be addressed by Jennings.
Jennings could really be an asset for the Knicks, he could create some plays and shoot. His experience over the past years wherein he averaged "16.6 points and 6.2 assists during his six-year NBA career" could really boost the backcourt presence of the ailing Knicks. And as for the trade piece, christiantoday also shared that Jose Calderon may likely be the traded to Pistons.
However, there are also other options that the Knicks may come up with. They could also choose from Sasha VujaÄiÄ and Jerian Grant as the player to be traded to the Pistons. But still there is no telling whether the Pistons would let go of Jennings. Guess we would just have to wait and see some other updates to the said rumored trade.
