Avid fans and die-hard gamers of "Tekken X Street Fighter" will have to wait a little longer before they can play the game. Game developer Bandai Namco Entertaintment has confirmed that the game is still being developed, a report from Vinereport said on Wednesday.
A translated interview of Gameblog, a gaming website based in France, with senior game designer Michael Murray reveals that the game is still being developed. He, however, stressed that the company's developers are still focusing on other games.
"[Tekken x Street Fighter] is still in development. It's difficult at the moment to find a period to launch the game since Tekken 7 was released. For the moment, we are focusing on Tekken 7," Murray said.
"In the same interview Michael Murray was asked about the consoles that Tekken X Street Fighter is expected to be released, for which the designer gave a very interesting answer stating that previously games were developed based on their platforms, but starting from Tekken 7, they developed the game based on the PC, and thus, the still in development Tekken X Street Fighter has a PC base, with the platform release to be decided on afterwards. Unfortunately, there is still no release date for Tekken 7: Fated Retribution, much less for Tekken X Street Fighter," Crossmap said.
For game enthusiasts, Murray's statement echoes the same message given by "Tekken" producer Katsuhiro Harada during the 2015 San Diego Comic Con It can be recalled that Harada shared some of the developments about the game.
"It might seem like we haven't started on it at all, but the character lineup has been decided upon since a very long time ago. We've already finished the polygon models, moves, and systems," Harada said, as quoted in the report.
