In a recent rumor in the Major League Baseball, it has been suggested that Corey Dickerson and Charlie Blackmon of the Colorado Rockies is being targeted by the St. Louis Cardinals. This said move of acquiring either Dickerson or Blackmon is said to be a team response from the departure of right fielder Jason Heyward.
But still there are no updates on the said deal, even after Fox Sport's Jon Morosi had reported that the Rockies and Cardinals might come to an agreement with the said transaction. However, aside from the said two outfielders, some reports also pointed out the possibility of Carlos Gonzales being included in the said deal.
But movie news guide was quick to point out the weakness of Carlo Gonzales in being part of the deal. The said player has been riddled with injury and still Rockies might not lower down his price tag despite Gonzales being succumbed to several injuries during the past seasons. And this would make his acquisition nearly impossible.
On the other hand, Dickerson's performance could also be questioned by the Cardinals. It is known that Dickerson has weak throwing arm, and aiming for such player may be a gamble for the Cardinals. That is why the best logical deal would be to go for Blackmon as he had a more promising performance this season compared to the other options.
Now that the Cardinals option had been narrowed down to Blackmon, the question is who the Rockies would take to initiate a trade deal. According to some rumors the Rockies has an eye for first baseman Matt Adams of the Cardinals. Gospel Herald cited that Benjamin Hochman of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch hinted a possibility of Adams being involved in the said trade deal. If indeed the Rockies will trade Blackmon for Adams, the Rockies should be prepared to ignite Adams who had a not so overwhelming performance last season due to game time issues.
