Some fans were dismayed as the popular Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry was not able to play in the game against the Dallas Mavericks. Apparently, he had his MRI on his lower left leg injury.
The Warriors had already been given a heads up and listed Curry's appearance to be questionable for the game against the Dallas Mavericks, ESPN reported. Luke Walton, the Warriors' interim coach, also mentioned the possibility of Curry missing their Thursday game in Houston.
Walton stated that "there's a chance that he won't play in one or both (games)," according to San Jose Mercury News.
"That's probably going to be a game time decision or at least determined on how he's feeling tomorrow," he continued.
It was not only Curry who was out of the playing field at the moment. Due to a sprain on his left shoulder, Leonardo Barbosa, the Warriors backup guard was also unable to play for Wednesday's game.
Just after their victory against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Christmas Day, Curry began to grow bothered by his strained right calf, though it was the left that was injured. A source told ESPN's Ramona Shelburne that Curry has suffered an injury during their game against the Kings where he made his sixth triple-double record. It was even noted that the NBA star had not practiced the day before their game.
Walton explained that Curry wished to play in Dallas on Wednesday. According to Mercury News, Walton stated that Curry "hasn't said anything except for he wants to play, even last night in the game, when I saw him in the game limping and I tried to take him out, he gave the wave-off and said that it was fine."
Curry is the current NBA MVP with an average 30.5 points per game this season.
