The "Orange is the New Black" cast has released a funny holiday video which apparently shows returning characters for Season 4.
Melty reported that some of the fan favorite characters like Poussey (Samira Wiley), Flaca (Jackie Cruz), Red (Kate Mulgrew), Black Cindy (Adrienne C. Moore), Daya (Dascha Polanco), Suzanne (Uzo Aduba), Piper (Taylor Schilling), Morello (Yael Stone) and Taystee (Danielle Brooks) gave their own rendition of the Christmas song, "The Night Before Christmas." The video was posted by the show's official Twitter account just in time for the holiday season and treated the show's fans with some hints as to who will be appearing in the new season.
Ecumenical News reported that E! Online said that the holiday video gives the viewers a sneak peek into the returning characters for the new season. One of the most interesting revelations from the video would be from Laverne Cox. In season 3, her character Sophia was transferred to SHU after she fought with Gloria. This led Gloria and Aleida to spread some "transphobic" rumors inside the Litchfield Correctional Facility. At first, Sophia threatened to sue the facility but then the management decided to get her transferred for her own protection. Some media outlets believe that the feud between Sophia and Gloria is not yet over and it will continue in season 4.
However, one cast member was not seen in the video as Natasha Lyonne, who plays Nicky was absent. In season 3, Nicky was sent to a maximum security prison and her return to Litchfield in season 4 is yet to be confirmed. If ever she won't return it was said that her relationship with Red might be in jeopardy after her recent transgressions.
Meanwhile, new additions to the show will reportedly cause some overcrowding issue in the facility in the new season. As of writing there is still no official release date, but it is expected that "Orange is the New Black" will be available sometime in 2016.
