American multinational consumer electronics company Best Buy has announced on Thursday that avid fans and die-hard gamers of "Super Smash Bros." can now pre-order a new amiibo character featuring the popular fighter from the game named "Lucas," a report from Design & Trend said.
According to the report, Lucas is the only new "Super Smash Bros." amiibo character that can be pre-ordered. However, it was noted, that there's no exact date as to how long the pre-order will stay and the company said that fans can only get the latest amiibo figurine in selected pick-up store. This means that the Lucas amiibo figure is impossible to be shipped or delivered to individual home.
Siliconera reports that the amiibo figurine Lucas is slated to be released on Jan. 22, 2016. Interested fans can buy the said amiibo figurine for $12.99 at Best Buy. Lucas is said to be compatible to both Nintendo Wii U and Nintendo 3DS versions of the game.
"Lucas will also add an additional costume to Super Mario Maker. Lucas shares his January 22 release date with four more Animal Crossing amiibo. Blathers, Celeste, Kicks, and Resetti. They act as playable characters in Animal Crossing: amiibo Festival and design clients in Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer. They also add costumes to Super Mario Maker. The next series of Animal Crossing amiibo trading cards will also be released on January 22. However, no pre-order listings have appeared for the cards, which work with Animal Crossing: amiibo Festival and Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer, yet," the report said.
Meanwhile, online retailer giant Amazon has also created an exclusive product page for "Shovel Knight." The aforementioned figurine is slated to be released on Jan. 8 and will be sold for $12.99. The figurine is said to be compatible with both Nintendo Wii U and Nintendo 3DS versions of the figurine.
