Work related stress cannot be helped nowadays, and so to take care of themselves, they are going after healthier options. Below are some health and wellness trends that are expected to dominate 2016.

Many people commit to losing excess weight gained by eating so much during family gatherings, but experts say this is not the only reason why they sign up for a fitness program. Many want to restart their lifestyle, so this year, intensive fitness programs accompanied by other lifestyle elements like committing to a meal plan, and consciously abiding by healthier behaviors, are expected to be a hit this year. These programs do not merely offer workout routines, but also encourage support and accountability among their clients.

Zumba was a hit for the past two years, as it combines working out and socializing since it is done as a group. This year, group meditations are said to be the newest way to 'chill out' with friends and even significant others. The Big Quiet, a group who organizes big meditation events, is gathering about 800 people to meditate in different areas in New York City. One of the organizers, Jesse Israel, tells the participants in one session held in an auditorium in NYC, "We're sharing the benefits of meditation in a way that's social and fun.

People are resorting to different ways to combat physical and mental exhaustion. That is why 'superherbs,' or plants that help the body adapt to stress, will become a trend this year. Plants like moringa, ginger, maca, and ginseng  are now ingredients of juices, teas, and even beauty products.

Overall, 2016 is a year when people are after holistically feeling good, instead of just getting thinner and losing weight.  Anti-Diet Project founder Kelsey Miller says, "When you brush aside all that get-skinny jargon, you're able to go into a workout and experience how good it makes your body and brain feel."
