Kim Kardashian recently posted an Instagram photo showing her firstborn, North West, wearing an animal skinned coat worth $3,500 -- and the world of social media is going crazy.
The reality show star has posted the image on her Instagram account last Tuesday. The photo showed her two-year-old daughter holding a lollipop and sporting a fur coat, captioned "swag."
Just a few hours after posting the photo, Kardashian was bombarded with approximately 54.4 million of her Twitter followers, protesting to her and Kanye West's attire selection for North.
One critic wrote, "That fur looked better on the animals that were killed." Another critic said, "Teaching your child that the torture and murder of animals is ok for fashion?? Great mothering."
Other tweeters appear to be confused as to why a toddler is thought to put on something as extravagant as that. According to a report by US Weekly, the designer jacket costs a staggering $3,500.
Furthermore, some detractors also posted angry tweets regarding the photo, and called it "Disgusting," the NY Daily News reported.
According to reports, this is not the first time that the little Kardashian-West has worn a fur jacket. In 2014, North wore an animal-skin jacket in the New York Fashion Week.
Meanwhile, the group for animal rights, PETA, has also pitched in. Lisa Lange, the nonprofit organization's senior vice president, expressed her views on the Daily News, saying, "Kids are naturally drawn to animals and sympathetic to their plight, and there's no reason to think that North is any different. If the fur coat that she's been dressed in is real, animals have suffered for vanity, something that we're sure neither North nor any little girl her age would support."
The celebrity couple enjoyed the holiday season right after welcoming their son and second child, Saint West, in the first week of December 2015.
