After confirming the renewal of "Narcos" for season 2, there have been some delays in production which could also lead to the delay in the release date.

According to Christian Post's sources, "Narcos" currently has no showrunner for season 2. After the first season of the series ended in April, co-creator and executive producer Chris Brancato stepped down as the showrunner because he accepted a deal with ABC Studios. With that, Netflix had to hire Adam Fierro as his replacement however, there are reports saying that Fierro has also stepped down as the showrunner for the show. According to reports, Fierro has already accomplished his services that he was contracted for in the show.

International Business Times reported that the company is now assigning writer-producers Jose Padilha and Eric Newman to step in and oversee the writers for them to be able to begin the production for season 2. There are reports which say that the show will not hire an official showrunner for the entire season. With that, fans are now wondering if the show can be finished in time for its August 2016 release. With the lack of people overseeing the production there could be a huge chance that the release date of the show will be also delayed.

Meanwhile, Wagner Moura, who plays as Pablo Escobar shared a few hints on what to expect in the new season. He revealed that his character Pablo will be going for some major changes in the new season.
