The Houston Rockets has become frequently involved in the rumor mill lately. Not just because of some trade rumors surrounding some of their players, but most especially about the inconsistent performance of the team despite having two star players in their roster. With 17 wins and 19 losses in their record right now, one could definitely ask what is happening to a ones great team last season.

There have been speculations in the league that Rockets current sloppy and inconsistent performance is mainly because of the two towering egos and allegedly conflicting presence of Dwight Howard and James Harden in the court. According to some rumors, both their egos are affecting not only their respective plays but as well as of their teammates. Movie News Guide pointed out that some of the players in the Rockets are not happy about having to play along with Dwight Howard and James Harden.

Despite having a decent finish last season, some critics are still not convince on the performance of the Rockets, in sense they merely capitalized on the Mavs weak squad and they were even dismantled by Stephen Curry and the Warriors on the next stage. And perhaps a testament to such claim would be the declining performance of the team and their star players, especially Harden whose defence has been criticized since the season start.

On the other hand, the seemingly lack of team work between Harden and Howard have been connected to the rumoured unhappiness of Howard playing along with Harden in the hard court. And on top of this, a rumoured trade of Howard is also being speculated. But still Howard denied all the said speculations about him.

Though there is a lack of certainty about the said rumor, but one point still remains certain behind all of these things. It is the fact that the Rockets' management should be more certain of their line-up. The team should manage well their players and opt for trade if necessary, for their current status and line-up is not doing well this season, both inside and outside the court. Perhaps trimming some egos will help improve this team's performance.
