It's already been announced that Chris Rock will be hosting February's upcoming 2016 Oscars. But in case you want a peek at how his hosting chops are, the comedian has already dropped the first promo on New Year's Eve, for your viewing pleasure.
The "Top Five" star first shared the promo on his social media accounts such as Twitter and Instagram. "There will always be 3 constants. Death, taxes and the Oscars. Hope all 3 don't happen to me this year. #Oscars," he wrote for the caption.
"Much like New Year's Eve, it'll be a night that ends with a lot of drunk, disappointed people swearing they'll do better next year," Rock joked.
If the 15-second promo (watch it here) is any indication of what the 2016 Oscars will be like, then we're in for a lot of laughter. Rock follows Neil Patrick Harris, who hosted the awards show last year.
Apparently, Rock has been promoting the awards show for a while now. According to MStars News, Rock has been dropping some hints since he was announced as this year's host.
In fact, in one of his tweets, Rock posted a meme, referencing Oscar-contender Leonardo DiCaprio as he fights off a bear - a scene from his film, "The Revenant."
It's actually pretty funny - given that Leo has yet to receive an Oscar - since the bear is the one getting the award. Check it out here.
It was back in December when the Academy offered a behind-the-scenes peek at Chris Rock's shoot for the Oscars promo.
In one tweet that featured a photo, the teleprompter read, "When they asked me to host the Oscars, I told them that I'd only do it if Jimmy Kimmel hosts a live special after the Oscars."
The 88th Academy Awards will air on ABC on Sunday, February 28 at 7PM ET.
Chris Rock net worth is $70 million.
