After breaking up with her longtime love and the president of the United States, Olivia (Kerry Washington) is said to reunite with an old flame when "Scandal" Season 5 returns.

During the mid-season 5 finale, fans saw Olivia walking away from President Fitz (Tony Goldwyn). Christian Post reports that in the return episode, Olivia will try to go on with her life despite the upcoming drama between her and her ex. In an earlier interview with Goldwyn, he expressed his thoughts on the breakup and said that he still hopes that the two will still get back together.

However, some fans think that Olivia might rekindle her love affair with Jake Ballard (Scott Foley) in the second part of Season 5. Fashion & Style reports that Foley talked about the possible reunion between them; however he revealed that Jake might be done with Olivia after all that happened.

In the earlier episodes, Jake discovered that Olivia was the one behind the release of her father's escape from prison, which led to the killing of his estranged wife. In Season 4, Jake also gave his blessing to Olivia to be with the one that she loves and accepted that she will never choose him over Fitz.

Foley revealed in an interview that there is little possibility that Jake will accept Olivia in case she would want to get back together with him. He explained that Jake has been very patient with her from the very beginning and even encouraged her to be with Fitz.

However, Foley revealed that if ever there is an open door where Jake and Olivia might get back together, he said that he thinks that it won't be rushed and it will take some time for the two to heal and find their way to each other's arms.

"Scandal" Season 5 will return on ABC on Feb. 11.
