The year has started better for Justin Timberlake as the musician-actor will not only voice one of the main characters in DreamWorks Animation's "Trolls," he will also write and perform original music for the film.

Billboard reports that he will be the executive music producer for "Trolls," to lead the creative direction for the movie's music as performing several songs to complete the soundtrack. In addition, he will be voicing Branch's character, a funny and hardcore survivalist who has chosen to hide his true colors.

Timberlake, has 16 top 10 hits on the Billboard Hot 100 under his name. He says, "I have always envisioned bringing the two worlds of film and music together for one epic event [and] couldn't be more excited that they will collide in DreamWorks' Trolls." This film is very special, the music is going to be very special and I can't wait for everyone to experience it all."

Anna Kendrick will also voice one of the main characters in the comedy film, which is about Branch and Princess Poppy, two iconic "Trolls" who'd go on an epic adventure.

DreamWorks Animation's co-presidents of feature animation Bonnie Arnold and Mireille Soria says, "Justin is an amazingly versatile artist and producer whose unprecedented creative talents provide a unique voice and sound for our movie." Trolls is a comedy with fantastic music at its core and we can't think of a more perfect artist to elevate this soundtrack to incredible heights."

It is set to be released Nov. 4, 2016, under Fox, directed by Mike Mitchell and co-directed by Walt Dohrn, the duo behind "Shrek Forever After,"the film based on the iconic dolls is produced by Gina Shay, also a "Shrek Forever After"alum.

As a bit of history, Troll dolls became a hit toy in the 1960s after they were created by Danish fisherman Thomas Dam, according to Hollywood Reporter. The colorful-haired toy made a come back in the 1990s, and in two years ago, Dreamworks Animation acquired the film rights from the Dam family.
