St. Louis Cardinals has always been involved in a trade rumor this offseason. There were many names involved in a possible trade deal that is intended to solidify the consistency of the said team. According to some speculations the Cardinals are looking to acquire players from the Colorado Rockies which would include Corey Dickerson, Charlie Blackmon, and most especially Carlos Gonzales.
The Cardinals wanted to maintain the stability of their roster by wanting to fill up the void left by their former outfielder Jason Heyward who went to play for the Chicago Cubs. And based on latest reports and as projected by Movie News Guide, Carlos Gonzales is the potential replacement that the Cardinal has been eyeing for.
There have been previous attempts by both team to have a compromise but at no avail. The Cardinals could make a lot of use for the two-time All-Star González, while the Rockies could ask for reinforcement in their pitching department. With the Rockies looking to have more younger and packaged players, Gonzales is seem to be the big ticket on their roster for a trade. And since Gonzales would be on the upcoming trade block, the Cardinals would be willing to make another attempt and transaction with the Rockies. As what Karl Buscheck of the Bleacher Report, both sides may still have another meeting to make.
This move of the Cardinals is somehow significant if they wanted to have a shot for a world series as what Digital Journal suggested. However, they should have a good game plan in order acquire Gonzales for other teams have been rumoured to show some interest on the said player. These teams likely include Arizona Diamondbacks and LA Angels. For a player who had a nice season performance last year, which included 40 home runs, other clubs will surely compete for his service.
