Nikon has unveiled its latest offerings at the ongoing CES 2016 in Las Vegas. Nikon users and photography enthusiasts are expected to get thrilled with the D5, the D500, an updated version of D300, and Nikon's first ever action camera, KeyMission 360.
Before it was officially announced, rumors about the D5 had circulated for months. Assembled around a 20.8-megapixel full-frame CMOS sensor, the Nikon D5 has the ability to have a steady shot at a rate of 12 frames per second. Dive Photo Guide described the features of the camera, including the new EXPEED 5 processing engine that aids in reducing the noise created by higher ISOs.
The camera also boasts its autofocus system having 153 autofocus points. The company stated that the device is the first DSLR which contains a dedicated AF processor for increased accuracy and speed. Professional and aspiring photographers won't have to wait too long to experience the new camera because it will be available in March.
Buyers may choose between two variations: one featuring dual XQD card slots and the other featuring dual CF slots. They may purchase either of the two for $6500 (body only).
As a replacement for the D300, Nikon surprised everyone at the CES 2016 with its new D500. Just like the D5, Nikon D500 bragged its autofocus system with the same 153-point module.
Some of the camera's features are the CMOS sensor with 20.9 megapixels, EXPEED 5 processor, and a rate of 20 frames per second for continuous shooting. The ISO improved to a range of 100-51,200. This new device also offers a 4K/UHD recording. Just like the D5, D500 will be available in March 2016 for a MSRP of $2000.
In addition, Nikon introduced its newest flagship: its first ever action camera, the KeyMission 360. Even if the new product was officially announced at the CES tech show, no complete details have been released yet, according to PC Magazine. What users can be certain though is that the camera is waterproof to 100 feet, can record up to 4k video, and contains shockproof to 6.5 feet.
"Everything is in front of the lens. There's no more hiding behind the camera," Nikon Ambassador Corey Rich teased. KeyMission 360 will be officially released this spring.
Other tech giants also introduced their newest products at the ongoing CES 2016, such as Acer's new devices with Windows and Chrome systems and LG's 18-inch "foldable" OLED display that can be rolled like a newspaper.
